Chamberí, MadridLocated in the Cortes neighborhood, its official name is due to the fact that the Congress of Deputies, the lower house of the Spanish Parliament (Cortes Generales), is located within this district. The nickname, more popular among residents, comes from the “orchards of the meadow” (huertas del prado) that existed in the 17th century along what is now the Paseo del Prado, which also gives its name to the neighborhood’s main street: Calle de las Huertas, very close to Neptune Square and Platería Martínez Square. The apartment’s location is excellent, not only because it is in central Madrid, next to the major museums, but also because it lies within the part of the city with the greatest range of dining and services. It is one of Madrid’s must-visit areas to enjoy the atmosphere the city offers. The Prado and Thyssen-Bornemisza museums are in the area, and nearby is the Reina Sofía Art Center, promoted for tourism under the name Paseo, or Triangle, of Art. It is surrounded by green spaces such as the Botanical Garden and very close to Retiro Park, making it perfect for those who want to live in central Madrid without giving up contact with nature. It is also in the new luxury area of the Canalejas Center, Four Seasons, and JW Marriott. It is the symbolic neighborhood where tradition and modernity merge, the city’s cultural hub. The level of infrastructure and services in the area is excellent. It is very well connected by metro and bus. It offers a wide range of small, fashionable venues: restaurants, bars, cafés, bookstores, shops, art galleries, and coworking studios.
