It is one of the best communicated areas of Madrid, by having several metro stations such as Ibiza, Sainz de Baranda, Goya, Retiro and Príncipe de Vergara, having also direct access to the M-30. The Park El Retiro is the real protagonist of this neighborhood of Madrid. The origins of the park date back to the time of the Catholic Monarchs, at the end of the 15th century and the beginning of the 16th. However, the construction of the neighborhood is much later. It corresponds to the late nineteenth century, when the demographic boom of the city led to successive extensions. This area maintains a layout with perpendicular streets with wide sidewalks and some of them equipped with boulevards to enhance the walk and recreation. This is the case of the streets of Ibiza and Mayor Sainz de Baranda.
